We absolutely love the holiday season and were so excited to have a reason to get Elodie together with her friends and their mamas!

We wanted to create a fun and cozy gathering full of activities for the little girls while also keeping things easy and festive, so we came up with a cookies and cocoa theme that we knew everyone would enjoy.

Cookies for Santa is a must have for the holidays, so we knew we had to have that on the list. One thing to remember is not everything has to always be home-made! We kept things simple and easy by laying out pre-made sugar cookie dough and had the girls cut out shapes with some adorable Christmas shaped cookie cutters. After we baked the cookies, the mamas helped the girls decorate with frosting, sprinkles, and peppermint m & m’s. Each one turned out so cute and it was fun to see the different designs everyone came up with for their cookies for Santa!

We also set up a spread of hot cocoa with marshmallow toppings, red velvet cupcakes and a berry tart that were enjoyed by the mamas. No need to feel compelled to bake these items from scratch! Many local grocery stores sell beautiful desserts that look great when plated on your own cake stands and serving platters that you already have in your home. It makes a world of difference from the standard packaging that they come in from the store.

While we love the traditional color palette of red and green for Christmas, we wanted to add in a few more colors to make the decor feel modern with a little hint of glam. We did this by mixing in pink, mint green and gold wrapping paper, which looked so great under the Christmas tree and definitely made things more festive. The girls had so much fun giving and receiving presents. Each of them received a Pottery Barn Kids Amazing Girl Doll in their stocking, which is the perfect gift for each of these amazing girls (it even came with a tag letting them know just that).

It can be so easy to let the holiday season get the best of us with those ever growing to-do lists, but it’s especially important during this time of year to carve out time to spend with friends and family. With just a few hours and some easy store-bought items, you can plan a special afternoon filled with festive activities. We had so much fun and hope this inspires others to plan a fun filled afternoon of their own!
