See Monique Lhuillier’s Top 5 Must-Have Registry Picks for Spring

Fashion designer and bridal expert, Monique Lhuillier, wants you to know that there are no rules to wedding registries. “Today’s couples are creating registries to reflect how they are living.” says Lhuillier.  With co-habitation before marriage being today’s “new normal” for couples, the concept of what a wedding registry should be is changing.  But even as the notion of the registry continues to morph, Monique still believes couples should incorporate tradition as they move forward stating “I do think there are some constants that should be on any registry including beautiful dinnerware, great bedding and fabulous entertaining pieces.”  Holding true to her word, Monique’s registry collection with Pottery Barn hits all these areas and more, providing newlyweds with beautifully crafted dinnerware, glasses, bed linens and decorative accessories that are well-made and thoughtfully designed.

For her Spring 2019 Collection, we worked with the esteemed designer to build on the unique and aspirational  DNA of the collaboration to create a fresh and beautiful expression of rose gold, blush pink and the Monique Lhuillier signature floral motifs.  Spring 2019 brings a sense of modern femininity without pretense; these are pieces that a couple can (and should) use every day to celebrate their new lives together.  We challenged Monique to select 3 products from her new collection that she felt had the potential to become an “instant classic” with our customers.

Juliana White Dinnerware

This richly detailed porcelain dinnerware features a beautiful scalloped detail that Monique loves but it’s the finish and versatility that sets it apart.  The shiny glaze gives these white plates an elegant touch, making them the perfect base for layering a formal place setting while casual enough for everyday dining.

Gabrielle Etched Iced Tea Pitcher

Monique was excited to continue the success of our popular Gabrielle Glass Collection with the addition of this graceful and festive pitcher to mix.  “It’s special” she says, ” and great for holidays but I can see someone using this to serve lemonade on a warm Spring day.”

Gabrielle Cake Dome + Lara Rose Gold Dessert Stand

Always one to make her own rules, Monique included two beloved pieces from her Spring 2019 Collection into this answer – the Gabrielle Cake Dome and Lara Cake Stand.  This beautiful duo is a combination of two of Monique’s central design elements, rose gold and florals.  Monique loves how versatile the combination is – use it for your favorite desserts, a cheese plate or even fruit.  But what the designer loves most is that while this pair makes a great wedding gift they make an even better hostess gift!

But then we got to thinking, why should we limit ourselves to just Spring 2019 when some of Monique’s favorite pieces are beautiful products from previous collections? Once we had posed this broader questions, Monique, like any good designer, was ready with even more beautiful options and gave us two more pieces from her collections that she thinks are instant classics.

Margot Champagne Bucket

It’s no surprise that this beautiful and impactful centerpiece made it onto Monique’s list – she is a consummate hostess! The Margot‘s combines unexpected scale with a glamorous rose gold finish to achieve instant showstopper status for any event.

Garden Rose Duvet & Sham

Rounding out the list of classics, and incorporating her ever-present love of textiles, is the always popular Garden Rose Duvet and Sham.  “I love the sheen,” says Monique “the sateen 100% cotton weave gives the bedding a beautiful luster and really makes the blush rose pattern pop.  It’s one of my favorites.”  Perfect for hosting overnight guests or creative a cozy master bedroom, this bed set perfectly captures the casual sophistication that Monique Lhuillier brings to home design.
