The challenge: Transform a summer rental in the Hamptons into a spin on California Coastal style.
The solution: Clean and crisp neutrals, subtle pops of color and contrast through texture — flawlessly executed by Pottery Barn Design Services Specialists Maria Khromchenko and Mitchell Beeler at our 67th and Broadway store.

The spacious 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom home needed design help in every single room — including the beautiful patio. “The home didn’t even have walls up yet during our on-site visit,” says Khromchenko. “It’s always a little challenging planning and visualizing a design for a home that hasn’t yet been completed. You want to make sure your design works well with the architecture of the space.”

The duo stayed in close contact with the home’s builder and project manager to help with any decisions that would affect the home’s cohesiveness and design. Floor finishes, lighting, hardware and paint choices would all have an impact on the furniture and accessories that they chose.
“It was very important to stay on the same page so that everything looks seamless, even with different teams working on different aspects of such a large project,” says Khromchenko.

Upholstered sofas, chairs, headboards and plenty of cozy accessories ensured that the new home felt comfortable and lived-in for new renters. A simple and sophisticated color palette feels soothing, and well-suited for an ocean-side locale.

Careful fabric choices — such as the performance fabric upholstered Carlisle chairs for the living room — keep home maintenance easy. “Perennials is a perfect easy-to-clean performance fabric for renters,” says Khromchenko. “It lets you do the white without the worry.”

Beautiful! Can I get the source for the navy pillows in the last photo? They would look great with my carlisle sofa!
I’d love to know about the white coverlet on the first image, is this from Pottery Barn as well?
