Easter often takes a backseat to other “bigger” holidays, but that’s no reason you can’t create and celebrate plenty of festive traditions for the big day! When we were looking for tips on a fun and family-friendly Easter breakfast, we turned to our fabulously-talented friend Megan from design blog TX Sized Home. Whether you’re already familiar with Megan and her drool-inducing Instagram account or not, it’s easy to see why we’re so in love with the former-nurse-turned-home-renovation-expert’s style; everything Megan touches looks like it’s straight out of a magazine spread!
Take a peek below for Megan’s quick and easy tips for a charming, casual, and stress-free Easter morning!
The holidays are steeped in tradition, big and small. One of my children’s favorite holidays is Easter! I know, Christmas is a big deal, but Easter is definitely a close second. We like to start our day with a beautifully set table to have a delicious breakfast. It is not our normal to have a dressed table, so for special occasions, I like to go all out.
This year I was desiring a more informal table, with rustic charm and casual elegance. Pottery Barn had the perfect table accessories to compliment the feel I was aiming for!
The Galvanized Metal Tiered Stand was perfect for creating a smorgasbord of pastry goodness. I lined each tray with fabric napkins and piled the pastries high! Even after breakfast was over, I left the tray out and the kids snacked on all the yummy goodies for the rest of the day.
The bunny salad plates and Galvanized Metal Chargers were a great addition to my casual breakfast.
And the coordinating Floral Bunny Serving Platter is wonderfully huge! It was stacked high with homemade buttermilk chocolate chip pancakes, which is my family’s favorite breakfast food. Yummy!
From young to old, we all enjoy a good pancake!
And a pastry too!
After everyone’s appetites are satisfied, we head out to begin our annual egg hunt.
The Pottery Barn Farmhouse Basket is ideal for gathering all those Easter eggs.
Our yearly traditions only keep getting better and so many memories are made during the holidays. One tip that I can offer is to prepare a simple menu in order to alleviate any stress and make your holidays more enjoyable. Here is an easy fruit salad recipe that meets everyone’s standards for a delicious side!

- 1 cup mandarain oranges (drained)
- 1 cup crushed pineapple (drained)
