Brad of Brad Ramsey Interiors recently shared a great family room project that updated and beautified a home. Here’s a before shot of the room:
And here’s Brad’s lovely results.
Brad told us, “I was charged with designing a cozy family room for a family of four with two active teenage boys and two dogs. The challenge was to make the space beautiful for mom to enjoy, but not over the top or too flowery so the rest of the family would feel comfortable in it as well.”
Brad goes on to note, “I was excited to find several key pieces for the room from Pottery Barn. I layered a Zonia Ikat Dhurrie Rug over a 9’x12′ Owen Herringbone Jute Rug to create a foundation for the rest of the colors and textures in the room. Add to that the rustic Hastings Reclaimed Wood Coffee Table and the Caden Nailhead Leather Stool floating over by the fireplace, and you can see how the Pottery Barn pieces add much of the character and texture to this room. And the most important part, my client loves it!”

Very pretty! Feels larger and up to date. I love layered rugs!
Love the wall colors and how you painted the bookcase/TV Wall Unit, with updated hardware, furniture perfectly placed. This looks like two completely different houses. Amazing – fresh – open.
Brad is my designer. His taste is impeccable, and we love our bedroom and sitting room he did for us last year. We’re getting ready to start on the deck, living room, dining room and powder room. Weare so excited! As you can see his work is beautiful.
Went from dark & tired to light & airy. Excellent transformation! I like how you use affordable accessories & give resources too.
How are you liking the owen rug? Considering purchasing one for our family room – we have a 1 year old and a dog (so far). Thanks for the feedback!
