Maria Montalbano, a Pottery Barn fan and gifted home decorator, recently sent us photos of her lovely outdoor space and pergola — which was built by her talented boyfriend . Maria’s gorgeous outdoor space was also outfitted with some great Pottery Barn pieces.
Maria told us, “After browsing on the Pottery Barn website and viewing the spring and summer catalogs the Lattice Chandelier caught my eye. I needed a fixture large enough to accommodate the 10 x 10 foot space of the pergola. I wanted a dramatic yet rustic look that would not require electricity. The Lattice Chandelier was a perfect touch. I had already purchased several lights from Pottery Barn and knew the quality was superior to their competitors. I decided on PB candles for their soft natural light, creating a serene and relaxing atmosphere.”
Maria’s boyfriend Melvin built the pergola himself, after he and Maria searched google images and viewed catalogs for pergola ideas. “We wanted a weathered look and opted for wood and stained it for the finished product,” Maria explains. “He constructed not only our pergola, he also built a matching arbor, the wood fencing seen in the pictures, benches and a fire pit area for our backyard. We both designed and installed the landscaping and recently added a pool.”

For the space, Maria also added the Solaris Scroll Lantern, the Daisy, Lily and Sunflower Botanical Indoor/Outdoor Pillows, the Malta Lantern and a Galvanized Metal Tray. The overall effect is absolutely lovely!
