Thanksgiving 101: Wood Platter Centerpiece from Whitewood Events

When setting your holiday table, it is not always necessary to splurge on cut florals!  Add a finishing touch to any occasion with these eye-catching, easy-to-make centerpieces using house plants (real and faux). Not only do they add instant color and texture to your Thanksgiving table, the plants bring in a beautiful natural element that pulls the colors of Fall indoors. Plus they are super easy to create and maintain!

Supplies
  • Wood Container:  we chose the Vintage Wood Oval Platter
  • Ferns: Two live ferns in small pots – here we used Rabbit Foot Fern, but any will do.
  • One Faux Plant:  We choose the Maidenhair Fern but faux succulents would work as well.
  • Moss
Steps

Step 1: Take real plants out of plastic containers. Place on wood platter.

Step 2: Place faux plant in the middle of the two real ones.

Step 3: Put moss around the plants to disguise real dirt and faux ferns.

Step 4: Place on table. Viola!

How easy was that?  And the best part is that a centerpiece like this can easily be made now and used through Thanksgiving!  No muss no fuss!  But if you are still strapped for time, be sure to take advantage of our Holiday Concierge services from our Design Crew.  They can help you set the table, decorate your home and even help plan your holiday party!  Contact your local store to set up an appointment.
