Pottery Barn Celebrates Earth Week

We celebrated Earth Week in full force here at Pottery Barn. In honor of Earth Day 2014, we’ve re-launched our Eco Shop online. Our new green leaf icon indicates products that have been developed and sourced with sustainability in mind.

Inside our offices, we’re encouraging everyone to embrace a more eco-friendly lifestyle. Our incredible Eco Team put up signs made of recycle paper around PBHQ that provide tips to help us all become a little bit more green.

Some of our favorite signs displayed facts were about what we’re already doing at Pottery Barn, like installing water filtration systems at our corporate offices and using gift boxes in stores made entire out of post-consumer waste.

The celebration hit a high point at the 5th anniversary of our Local Market, where PBHQ gathered for delicious local bites and live music. The all-cardboard Eco Team table was packed with people signing up for local volunteer opportunities (like working on our beautiful roof garden, or cleaning up San Francisco beaches) and writing their Earth Week pledges on recycled paper leaves. Each leaf was hung on an intricate cardboard tree, designed and built by our visual team in PBHQ’s lobby.

Pottery Barn’s Earth Week was a great success, and an eye-opening experience for everyone. We’re honored to work for a company that’s full of opportunities to give back to the community and the world.
