Last month we shared an awesome room makeover from O My Darlings blog who shared how to transition a kids room into a full on tween/teen dream space. After such a positive response we knew we had to share another transition from little kid space to tween space, so we turned to designer, mother, and blogger Kirsten Grove to share her tips. Here’s what she had to say…
Hi everyone! Kirsten from Simply Grove here today! I am so excited to be taking over The Stylehouse for the day to share my latest girls room makeover. For the last few years, my kids have shared a room. It has worked up to now but with both of them aging and becoming more and more independent, I knew it was time to give them each their own spaces. Today I’ll focus on the first room I started with! My daughter Eden Jo’s room was up first — I wanted to create a transitional room that could grow with her. I wanted the room to feel like her own but to still match the look and feel of the rest of our home (which is pretty modern). PBteen had exactly what I needed for this space, starting with the Emily + Meritt heart sheet set. These are so perfect for a room that needs to transition from a little girl space to a more mature girl space. I wanted a comforter to pair with the sheets that didn’t take away from the hearts and since stripes always compliment other patterns I chose the cottage stripe duvet cover in light grey, which can really be paired with anything!
