#RevvedUpRooms DIY Instructions for Chalkboard Pinboard

Materials

picture frame // newspaper or tarp // poster board // ruler // xacto knife // cutting board // black chalkboard paint // grey chalkboard paint // foam brushes // paper plate // painters tape // chalk // gold chalk pen // hot glue gun + sticks // scissors // cord/rope // sharpie // cork panels // push pins // photos (to pin)

Instructions

1. Measure and cut your illustration board to size so that it fits inside the picture frame you have chosen. Draw a line with your sharpie and then use your x-acto knife to cut it out on your cutting board. Screen Shot 2015-07-22 at 2.30.47 PM2. Now that your board is the correct size it is time to paint! Paint the illustration board with 2 coats of black chalkboard paint.Screen Shot 2015-07-22 at 2.32.21 PM3. Once dry, measure out your stripes with painters tape and tape them off on your board. Remember, the design is 100% up to you!Screen Shot 2015-07-22 at 2.33.06 PM4. Once you have the design the way you want it, paint the stripes with the grey chalkboard paint (or any color chalkboard paint you want!)Screen Shot 2015-07-22 at 2.33.51 PM5. Measure your cork panel using your ruler to your desired length. Cut it out with your x-acto knife.

6. Glue the cork panel to the chalkboard with a hot glue gun.

7. Measure and cut the decorative cord/rope or washi tape to the same width of the board and glue it it in between the chalkboard and corkboard seam. Screen Shot 2015-07-22 at 2.36.45 PM8. Play around with all kinds of designs! Mix and match colors and prints, it is entirely up to you to design your board the way you want it!
