How To Update Your Space For The Holidays

lounge-room-hd1-14-1The winter months mean holidays galore — the perfect opportunity to deck out your room with a handful of cheery accents. Even just a few stockings and some classic red and white can go a long way in making your room feel festive. (We’re also big fans of those cute, miniature trees – we love keeping them on our desks for some extra study cheer!) So today, we thought we’d share a few easy tips from the expert designers here at PBteen on how to get that cozy feel in your own bedroom or hangout space…

1. Try Cozy New Fabrics

One of the quickest, easiest ways to refresh your room is to change out the bedding. During summer and fall, we usually look for crisp linens, but with colder weather, try cuddling up to something warmer! Try cozier layers like fleece sheeting or a chic faux fur throw.

Having a friend over during holiday break (or simply sharing a room with a sibling)? Dress up your beds in coordinated sheeting (like we did above) to make everyone feel festive!

2. Create A Space To Relax

With the holiday season comes a few extra days off school (score!) — the perfect chance to spend time with friends and family. Make your space more fun with comfortable seating (we love these beanbags!) plus fun games, like a dartboard or foosball table. Some spirited competition is the perfect thing for friends and out-of-town relatives.

3. Get Nostalgic

We can’t help but get a little mushy around the holidays! That’s why we’re so smitten with these Dr. Seuss’s The Grinch™ flannel sheets — they remind us of one of our favorite Christmas stories as a kid. We could easily stay in this bed all day with a few cookies and a glass of milk. 🙂

I love these ideas!

I like to hang christmas tree lights along my wall, they give my room a festive feel, and provide soft lighting for when I am reading late at night.

And, of course, I LOVE the grinch sheets! ( They are already on my bed:)
