Behind the Scenes: Spring 2013 Windows

Ever wonder what goes into creating the window display at your local Pottery Barn Kids store? We caught up with our very own Brian Kurtz, Manager of Visual Merchandising, to get the scoop on spring inspiration.

Each season, Brian and his team transform the displays at our corporate set-up store located at the Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto, CA. This location is always set up a few weeks in advance so that Brian and his team can set up, photograph and communicate the direction to the other stores.

Spring inspiration was centered around the celebration of Easter and “the magic of being a kid,” Brian says. From a playful kids’ party display with swinging bunnies to the cheery baskets full of goodies, each element is carefully crafted to meet the team’s creative vision.

One of the major elements in the spring display was the oversized tissue paper flower. These were incorporated into the window design after Nancy Guettier, the SVP of Visual Merchandising, was inspired by similar props on a trip to Paris.
