Room We Love: Burton Backcountry Quilt + Sham

Last month we showed you one of our favorite guys rooms from our Burton collection and gave you a little insight into how our designers and stylists got the look, so today we’re going behind the scenes of another one of our most recent favorites to share where our inspiration came from and help show you how can get the look yourself. Take a peek…

Why This Room Works

Our Inspiration: We love a good trip to the mountains for snow, so for this room we were inspired by the rustic feel of a wood cabin.

Our Goal For The Room: We know you spend a ton of time in your room, so we wanted to create a space where you had room to do it all – sleep, study, and just chill out.

What We Did: Our biggest task was creating two separate areas – a space to snooze and a space to catch up on homework. We placed the desk in the corner next to natural light to help keep studying a little less nap-inducing. We made sure the sleep and study area were still matching by choosing a rustic chestnut wood for both the bed and the desk. (Tip: When you choose furniture it’s normal to want to mix and match between styles (we encourage it!), just select cohesive finish – like wood- will make the room still feel styled!) We had just enough room at the end for this comfy beanbag chair!

How To Get The Look In Your Space: Find pieces that show off your interests and make the most of what you love. Working with a smaller space? Try a bed with built-in storage to make it easier to keep the room clean and organized.

Design Tip/Trick: Use the walls to display prized possessions, like a favorite snowboard or a piece of art you love.

burton room accessoriesWe just had to share a few of our favorite accessories from this room, like these Boarder and Bear road signs on the walls which help give the room a slightly edgy feel. We kept things cozy with our pillow covers and shams.

Tell us which room you’d like to hear about next in the comments section below! We love sharing our inspirations and tips πŸ˜‰

I would love to see a post about the Sophie Paisley Bedroom, the Amanda Florette Bedroom, or the Beadboard Space Saving Study. Those are just 3 of my favs! πŸ™‚
