Planning a Play-Ready Space

Whether your kids’ play area is its own dedicated space or part of a multi-use room, follow our three favorite tips to make it the perfect spot for inspiring little imaginations.

1. Start with a good foundation. From a smart storage solution and sturdy furniture to a plush rug and cozy seat, begin with quality basics. For smaller spaces, try dividing the room into zones to create organizational areas that will help minimize clutter. Invest in a table that grows with your little ones so that they’ll have a creative space for years to come.

2. Add a little magic. Fill your play space with imaginative items for your wee ones to get excited about. For playroom basics, we recommend educational toys, dolls, and other everyday fun to get started. We also love an element of make-believe, and a play kitchen or teepee is the perfect way to encourage imagination.

3. Make it their own. Be sure to incorporate your child’s interests into the room’s theme. Do you have a little athlete? Try a sports room theme. Also, hang some wall letters to personalize the space – they add a fun element without overpowering the room.
