Last week we introduced our amazing Extraordinary Teens! Today we are shinning the light on 14 year old Riley Gantt of Rainbow Pack! Riley founded her organization after learning that elementary school students from low-income families can’t always complete their homework. With each $10 donation she is able to provide one backpack full of homework supplies to one student. And each $300 donation provides packs for an entire Kindergarten class!
You might be wondering what goes in these packs? For Kindergarten to second grade students each pack provides 1 pencil box, 1 large glue stick, 6 pencils, 1 eraser, 2 folders, 1 pencil sharpener, a box of 24 crayons and 1 ruler. Third through fifth graders receive 1 backpack, 1 binder, 1 pencil bag, 1 glue stick, 6 pencils, 1 eraser, 1 pencil sharpener, 1 box of colored pencils, 1 ruler, 2 folders, 1 ballpoint pen and 1 highlighter pen.
Since it’s start over 5,500 underprivileged elementary school kids have received the homework supplies they need to be successful. We couldn’t be prouder to have Riley as an Extraordinary Teen 🙂 Her goal for this year is to provide 4,000 Rainbow Packs full of homework supplies to give to elementary school kids in need.
