How To Transition A Kid’s Room into A Dream Teen Room

A few days ago we revealed fashion and design experts Emily Current & Meritt Elliott recently styled Jessica Alba’s daughters bedrooms with their latest Emily & Meritt for PBteen collection. We gave you a peek at Honor’s room and today it is all about Jessica’s growing daughter Haven’s bedroom! Emily & Meritt helped refresh her space from a youthful kid’s room into a full-on whimsical dream space! We know how it feels to grow out of your bedroom as you get older and feel like your space is no longer you, so we turned to our favorite expert designers to create a beautiful space that can grow along with Haven.

This dream room is full of fashion, fun, adventure, enchanting details and a whole lot of personality.

Your nightstand is a great place for styling and lets you showcase items that mean the most to you. The White Bunny Lamp pairs nicely with vintage frames keeping the look playful and young. The chic Bedside table adds just a hint of sophistication.

DESIGN TIP: accessorize with colors that compliment each other; pink accents pop against the foundation of black & white.

Reading is fun at no matter what age you are. Create a space that lets you kickback, relax and dream. Keep the stuffed animals or personal items you truly love and showcase them!

DESIGN TIP: create a space that will grow with you as your interests and hobbies grow. Our bookcase and XOXO Wall Decor are excellent transitional pieces that can evolve with your style.

One of our favorite design tricks is to mix old pieces along with new ones! This vintage dresser paired with our Circus Stripe Blackout Drape and Rug provides old charm with a modern, super cool twist.

To really let personality shine in your room, accessorize! Decorative pillows are perfect for this.

DESIGN TIP: mix and match throw pillows that vary in size and shape for a totally original look.

We can’t wait to see how this stylish space grows and changes as Haven’s own style grows and changes too! And we’d love to see yours! Show us your space on Instagram, be sure to tag @pbteen and #mypbteen. We’ll be sure to share our favorites.
