The newly launched second chapter of our Emily & Meritt Collection has been getting a lot of love (we adore all your comments on Instagram & Facebook about your fave items!) You guys aren’t the only ones who are super into it – one of our favorite bloggers and DIY partners, Laurel of the blog A Bubbly Life, is a major fan-girl too. In fact, she got so inspired by her newest Emily & Meritt scores that she made lanterns {the cutest we’ve ever seen, actually!} to complement them. Want to try this DIY yourself? It’s oh-so easy…
- Tissue Paper
- Heart & Star Stamp Punchers (or any shape that’s inspiring you!)
- Paper Lanterns
- Mod Podge or Glue
- Brush
Directions:
Step 1) Stack a few sheets of tissue paper on top of each other and punch the shapes out using your puncher.
Step 2) Dip your paint brush into the mod podge or glue and brush a thin layer onto the lantern.
Step 3) Attach a heart or star. Repeat the steps until your lantern is complete.
Tissue paper comes in a variety of colors, so really, the color combos are endless. We love how Laurel matched gold and black with the new Emily & Merrit Heart + Star sheets!
So, when your lanterns are done, what do to with them?! You can make a cluster for a corner of your room, or turn them into lights with a light kit. Or, string them between your bedposts for a beautifully creative look!
What do you think? We’d love to see your finished project, so be sure to tag us on Instagram @PBteen #DIY!
