Woohoo! Hannukah begins tonight at sundown! The festival of lights is such a fun time of year — we are always fans of family time and love the traditions of lighting the menorah and making latkes with our entire family. Another tradition we’re having fun with this year? Making Hannukah cookies! This is the perfect activity to share with your littler cousins and siblings, or just a fun way to get in the kitchen and enjoy some sweets! Here are a few of our faves…
Turquoise French Macaroons
Okay, so it’s no secret we love a macaroon (just check out our Pinterest or Instagram…we love posting these pretty pastries!). So when we saw these adorable macarons in mint, gold, and white, we knew they’d go perfectly at our Hannukah festivities this week. Get the recipe for these beauties from Miss Renaissance here.
Looking for something more traditional? It really doesn’t get more traditional than Rugelach! We recommend calling around to see if you can find a family recipe, otherwise we love this recipe from Pastry Pal here.
We love playing spin the dreidel (okay okay, and all the chocolate gelt that comes with it!) So it’s no shocker we fell in love with these surprise dreidel cookies as soon as we laid eyes one them! You can fill them with whatever you want — mini chocolates, coconut, fruit, whatever! Get the recipe from Tablespoon here.
York Peppermint Pieces Cookies
Dark chocolate and mint just belong together, don’t you think? We dig that blogger Lovin’ In The Oven kept these sweets on trend with the holiday by adding blue and white chocolate morsels! Full recipe here.
