Get the Look: A Coastal-Inspired Summer Vignette

We love it when readers show us their PB Style, which is exactly what Sharon did when she submitted this photo. Be sure to check out more of Sharon’s style on her blog. Today, she’s sharing a coastal-inspired summer vignette. See how she created it when you read her quote below!

Sharon told us, “Since escaping to the beach every summer weekend isn’t possible, I like to treat myself to a coastal vibe with some seasonal decor. I chose the 52 inch Dough Bowl, one of Pottery Barn’s “found objects”, as my container for the vignette. The smooth, worn texture of the wood reminds me of driftwood. I started with a large piece, Pottery Barn’s Found Glass Bouy, in the center and built it out from there.”

To complete the look, Sharon surrounded the main bouy with coordinating sea-inspired pieces. “The shell and rope balls, faux coral and small fishing floats add great textures,” she shares. “Pottery Barn’s horned and white starfish are added as reminders of early morning beach walks.  The small driftwood from a recent beach trip is a personal touch and the coiled rope is some inspiration from a recent decorating class at my local Pottery Barn store. The free classes always provide new ideas to freshen up my space. Lastly, I used the PB woven tray as a background for the collection to add even more interest. This particular arrangement easily works in a foyer, dining room, casual living room or family room right through the summer months.”

We love Sharon’s coastal vignette! How are you decorating in a coastal style?
