Holidays Made Merrier with Hostess with the Mostess

Written by Jennifer Sbranti of Hostess with the Mostess for Building Blocks.

I’m thrilled to be the final guest blogger participating in Pottery Barn Kids’ special series, Holidays Made Merrier! ESPECIALLY because it means that another one of you will be winning a $500 gift card to PBK – now that’s what I call spreading some merry. 😉 To enter, see below.

Another great thing about this series is that it celebrates holiday traditions, which are so important. Not only do they help personalize the season for each of us, but they also bring a wonderful sense of familiarity, giving you and your family something to look forward to each year.

Like many, some of my favorite holiday traditions center on food! My husband’s family, for example, makes a traditional Italian seafood feast on Christmas Eve, complete with king crab from Alaska, seafood pasta, baked ziti, homemade bread and more. I absolutely LOVE this meal and look forward to it for weeks!

Other traditional dishes, though, are simpler – and sweeter. The frosted sugar cookie recipe I’ve been making with my mom since the fourth grade is something I now make with my two daughters. And as much as we love eating the cookies, the experience of mixing and baking and making a mess in the kitchen together is the best part.

Because these food-centered traditions mean so much to me, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite gift picks that encourage future-hostess skills in little ones. Happy holidays – and have fun in the kitchen!

Don’t forget to enter the giveaway below by Dec. 29th to win some of my favorite gifts (up to $500 in value) – good luck!
