Give a Little Hope: PB Gives Back to Larkin Street Youth

At Pottery Barn, we believe that everyone deserves the dignity of home, and we’re passionate about doing our part to make sure everyone has the opportunity to feel good about where they live. That’s why we started our Give a Little Hope program, which benefits Larkin Street Youth Center in San Francisco.

This year, we kicked off our season of giving with a delicious waffle sale and 5K walk from PBHQ to San Francisco’s ATT Park.

Although SF gave us a wet and rainy day for our Take it to the Streets 5K walk, the weather cleared just in time for 200+ Pottery Barn associates to enjoy some fresh air along the Embarcadero.

So far, we’ve raised about $8,000 this year. These funds will help launch a new mobile website for Larkin Street Youth Services — an important part of a program that aims to be accessible and approachable to the 4,000 youth who seek shelter there every year.

Larkin Street — which celebrated its 30th anniversary this year — opened in 1984 as a safe haven for the youth in San Francisco who were forced to live on the streets. In 30 years, it’s evolved from a single drop-in center to 25 programs across 15 different locations in San Francisco. These programs provide shelter and services for homeless and runaway youth ages 12 to 24 years old. Many are former foster care youth, some but all are looking for somewhere to call home.

We’re proud, honored and privileged to support such a wonderful program. Stay tuned for even more ways PB loves Larkin Street, soon.
