Spying Autumn’s Colors on Lake Superior

Today, we’re taking a quick jaunt over to the upper Midwest to discover some gorgeous autumn colors.

These photos show the seaside town of Bayfield, WI as well as photos of the Bayfield Peninsula, a unique area of the state known for its apple orchards, outdoor recreation and artistic community.

The photos, which were taken by Hannah Stonehouse Hudson, relate the photographer’s love for the area. When we asked her what she loves most about autumn in Bayfield, she told us, “I love being in Bayfield in the fall because we are a bit warmer by the lake, our colors stick around a lot longer and the blues of Lake Superior create great contrast between the reds and yellows — especially out in the Apostle Islands.  I absolutely love taking photos of the rippling water with the reflections of the colorful trees in between the waves.

Where have you gone this year to take in the autumn colors?
