Every December, Jonathan Stiers of the Stiers Aesthetic decorates his home to a T. Stockings hang from the mantel with care. Garlands smell and look fresh. The tree glows day and night. Sound like holiday heaven? It is — take a look at Stiers’ beautiful decorations for this year and get some ideas for your home.
The mantel sets the tone for the living room, with splashes of red and silver that coordinate with the rest of the room.
Live garlands over the windows add extra festivity to the space. “The smell of the fresh pine is just the icing on the cake,” Stiers says.
Since Stiers loves red, he tries to bring brilliant pops of it into his Christmas decorations every year. “It’s easy to do on the tree with ribbon and ornaments, but I also change out pillow covers, kitchen towels and table linens,” he says.
A burst of red faux hydrangeas on the coffee table ties the red accent color to every part of the room.
Although his traditional palette of red and silver means that Stiers can often use the same decorations, he always tries to find a few new things to keep the look fresh. This Hourglass Hurricane with faux berries adds a seasonal touch to a buffet.
The tree is of course, the star of the show. Stiers used burlap ribbon to add visual movement to the design, and accented with splashes of red and silver. “It’s important to incorporate pieces that are reflective of your personality or hobbies,” he says. “Maybe it’s an Eiffel Tower Ornament because of your love for Paris, or a monogrammed frame ornament to showcase memories of family and friends.”
Even Stiers’ kitchen has a little holiday cheer, with a faux wreath, festive plants and a few well-placed red towels.

Gorgeous all around! I love the garlands on the window and the wreath on the cabinet and the jute on the tree. Lots to love. I too am a lover of red and decorate full force with it at Christmas. The PB Santa mugs were my inspiration for this year’s Christmas table: http://www.talkofthehouse.com/christmas-in-the-kitchen/

Absolutely in love with your kitchen. Do you know where the cabinets are from? I dream of having a similar kitchen in my house!
