We love the idea of a themed Halloween party (such as yesterday’s featured retro dessert party), which is why we’re excited to pair some of our favorite Pottery Barn Halloween decorations with some of 19th century American writer Edgar Allan Poe’s most spooky and mysterious tales and poems.
Poe’s most famous work, perhaps, is the narrative poem “The Raven,” which features a mysterious talking raven. These Crow on a Wire String Lights perfectly reflect the tone of the poem.
“The Gold-Bug,” a short story by Edgar Allan Poe, tells the tale of a man bitten by a gold-colored beetle, and whose slow descent into possible madness also involves a hunt for buried treasure. We think our Lizard and Stag Beetle Snack Bowls reflect the tale well.
Poe’s tale “The Black Cat,” told by a shady narrator, reveals a murder mystery through its carefully unspooled and frightening plotline. Our Cat Ground Stake is a perfect match for the tale, down to the feline’s frightening facial expression and single eye.
