When it comes to floral arrangements, many people are concerned that the money they
spend doesn’t go very far given fresh cut flowers don’t last more than 4-5 days. So, I
decided to create a planter for those who would prefer to have a long-lasting
centerpiece or planter, using Pottery Barn’s Antique Silver Serve Bowl.

Even at your local market or grocery store, there is quite an array of different plants to
combine and create into an eye-catching and longer lasting arrangement. There are a
variety of beautiful mini-rose plants available at the market, so with a quick stop at
Trader Joe’s and my local nursery, I was able to find plans of different colors, shapes,
and textures to create this planter.

I particularly like this silver bowl and the writing that is etched on the rim: “Together with
friends and family is always the happiest place to be” – it is the perfect motto for the
holiday season.

I chose two shades of mini-rose plants, maidenhair vine, waffle plant (for the lovely
purplish foliage), a small hydrangea, rosemary, and finished with the lovely stephanotis
plant for a delicate and beautiful aroma.

It has been two weeks and the planter is still intact and beautiful, and it only needs
water every 2-3 days.
