Terrariums are traditionally used for potted plants, but I wanted to use this vessel to create a flower arrangement with bursts of color and beauty spilling out of it. I love the look of this terrarium from Pottery Barn — with the right flowers inside, I think that this would make a beautiful statement piece for any event. Take a look at how I did it, below. Note that when inside water-filled vessels, this arrangement will last for about 3 to 4 days.

1. Start in the back first — place the flowers in different sized and colored vases.

2. For this project, I created one detailed arrangement (inside the black pedestal vase) and then simply put some longer stemmed cut flowers in a bucket next to it. Since I wanted to fill the lower front of the terrarium with more colorful flowers, I placed some smaller vases in the front and filled them with big and bold flowers.

3. I wanted to be able to place some stems just here and there, so I used floral water tubes to keep them hydrated.

4. Lastly, for added color, I place some loose petals and foliage down on the surface of the terrarium.
