A Fabulous Front Door for Fall

Adding seasonal decor around the home is one of our favorite things about celebrating fall. But we don’t want to keep all the fun inside! Your door is begging for a little love this time of year. What better way to share your seasons greetings with your friends, family and neighbors? We teamed up with Christy Hulsey of Colonial House of Flowers, to share a few fun and easy tips for creating seasonal curb appeal to your home. Trust us, your neighbors will thank you!

Tip 1: Add pops of unexpected details. Add personality by incorporating your favorite things. I can’t resist the Vince Metal Clad Accent Stool at the front door. Surprise—you can go from common to extraordinary in a minute! This is a critical element that makes guests feel relaxed and special.

Tip 2: Add candles and found greenery for elegance. It doesn’t get more beautiful than that. Take off all the leaves from the berry branches – they’ll wither quickly, but the berries will last for days. Plus, when it comes to setting the mood, you can’t beat the immediate impact of flickering candle light as seen through lanterns like the Wyeth Recycled Glass Lanterns! Add plenty of candles (or consider flameless candles) to those lanterns — its fall, after all! — and some freshly clipped seeds to complete the scene.

Tip: Use in-season florals in rich neutrals on doors. Palettes that are fall specific are impossible to get wrong especially when you put them at the entry. It’s easier than you think because with so many colors to choose from like navy, green, burgundy, golds, chocolates and more. Rose hips, amaranthus, bittersweets, olive branches and David Austin garden rose are a few of the florals you’ll find in fall. Guests are also sure to feel warm and welcome with simple wreaths. Try to imitate nature to avoid things feeling fussy and contrived.
