7 Things To Do on Halloween Besides Trick-Or-Treat

What’s not to love about Halloween? It’s filled with candy, movie marathons, dressing up, and the return of fall! Well…there is one thing that can be tricky – what to do on the actual night of Halloween. You might have outgrown trick-or-treating, but you also don’t want to miss the holiday, right? Here are a few ways to make the holiday memorable and fun without ringing doorbells. So grab a few friends and pick your favorite activity…

  1. Hand out candy – You might be feeling too old to dress up and head door-to-door, but why not be the one to deliver smiles and candy to the kids that haven’t outgrown the tradition yet?
  2. Volunteer – Many colleges and volunteer organizations offer alternatives for kids that don’t live in neighborhoods suitable for trick-or-treating. See if your college campus (or one nearby) offers an opportunity to volunteer with these kiddos to help make their All Hallows Eve extra special!
  3. Plan a movie night with your friends – Nothing is more fun than a night in with good snacks and good friends. Invite a few friends over for popcorn, candy corn, and create a playlist of all your favorite spooky movies!
  4. Backyard Ghost Stories – Pitch a tent in the backyard, make s’mores, and just hang out with your friends! Looking to get out of the house? Look for local haunted houses in your area and get out for the night – just prepare to be spooked!
  5. Game Night – Ouji board anyone? Pick out a few board games, serves snacks, and enjoy a night in!
  6. Pumpkin Carving Party – What is more quintessentially Halloween than a jack-o-lantern? We’ve posted a few fun ideas for creating your own special pumpkin – so call a few pals up, picks up some supplies from your local craft store and just enjoy a night in of DIY fun! Plus use some of your pumpkin innards to bake pumpkin pie and cookies for a little extra festive fun!
  7. Amusement parks usually go all out for Halloween – some range from adorably Halloweeny to full on frightening. Grab a few pals and hit the amusement park for a few memories!
