This Pottery Barn Table Will Transport You to a Winter Wonderland

Yesterday, we provided you with a peek of the fantastic table that Pottery Barn created for the DIFFA Dining by Design event. Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) is one of the largest providers of funding for HIV/AIDS service and education programs in the United States, and DIFFA’s Dining by Design events are a wonderful charity event for the program, as well as an opportunity for attendees to get up close and personal with the one-of-a-kind table installations.

This year, Pottery Barn created a table design, overseen by our in-house tabletop designer, Tony, and the table provided a gorgeous, dramatic vision of a winter tablescape. Tony noted, “We wanted to do an over-the-top inspirational table to delight and inspire, yet keep in our wheelhouse of styling and product design that is so intrinsic to the PB brand. Conversational whimsy paired with quiet luxury and punctuated drama set a tone appropriate for an event named Dining by Design.”

The table that Pottery Barn designed for the event was carefully planned, designed, and prepped over six months, with the theme of a whimsical winter wonderland dining experience.

The galvanized steel tabletop was balanced on three redwood tree stumps, while gabion cages were used as a backdrop of pinecones and candlelight. Lit, flocked Christmas trees set atop a custom-built wood pergola added an over-the-top sense of fantasy.

The Gabriella dinnerware plates created a natural base for the table setting, while the flatware was displayed in a birch log that was drilled especially for the flatware pieces. The flax-colored linen napkins added to the layered, luxe look, and emphasized the natural theme of the table.

The faux fur mats were hand sewn by Pottery Barn’s in-house textile designer, while the twig stemware was created specifically for the Dining by Design event.

An olive tree seedling wrapped in burlap and set in glass vases topped each place-setting, and also served as gifts for guests.

We’re so thrilled by this gorgeous table! Kudos to Tony and his team for creating such an incredible table design for this year’s Dining by Design event.
